Awards for All
'Awards for All England' is supported by the Arts Council England, the Big Lottery Fund, the Heritage Lottery Fund and Sport England. This organisation awards grants for people to take part in art, sport, heritage and community activities, and projects that promote education, the environment and health in the local community.
In July, we were successful in being awarded a grant through ‘Awards for All’ to develop Dance across the Warblington cluster schools.
The grant has been awarded to run taster sessions in our cluster schools and after school clubs. There will be the opportunity to hold dance workshops at Warblington for pupils from across all cluster schools. There will also be the opportunity for older students to work alongside a dance teacher with pupils in the infant, junior and primary schools.
This is an exciting opportunity for students and pupils across our schools to have greater access to participate in dance.
Aims of 'Awards for All'
To extend access and participation
Dance will be accessible to more of our young people within our cluster of schools. Sessions will be held at our schools at the end of the school day.
Increase skill and creativity
Dance is an ideal activity to develop both skill and creativity for all young people. they will have the opportunity to develop their creativity in a range of dance forms, according to their age and experience.
Improve quality of life
With young people developing and extending their skills in dance, their health and fitness will improve their quality of life. Providing opportunities to participate in dance in the local community, making it more accessible, it will also improve their quality of life.
